Can anyone hazard a guess at what Chateau Lafite Rothschild 1945 could bring at auction?
It's a difficult question. If there is one bottle and it has not been cellared properly then surprisingly little. A single bottle that was not supported, at best, could have a plug that needs replacing or, at worst undrinkable because the cork must be replaced years. I visited a vendor a few weeks ago that offered a single bottle for £ 1165 (at that price, it was probably making a profit so it must have paid much less). If you are unsure of the state consider selling on eBay (with a reservation). Hope you find two or more people willing to push the price along.
