Wine investment is growing in popularity in China
Wine investment is proving to be one of the most successful investments and profitable the market. The Investable Index Fine Wine Liv-ex won 24% last year due to increased interest from Chinese buyers. There is an explanation to it - Russia appears to be out of the wine market at the moment, America has a great demand, but it is not growing very fast and Europe seems flat. China is the other big story at this time. Collectors, there are more interested in the brands of vintage wines. The right is now leading wine Château Lafite and it sells twice the value of the wines of the same quality of Chateau Mouton, Chateau Margaux and Chateau Latour. This is because Châteaux Lafite began first in the luxury wine market - an importer brought some stocks to China 15 years ago. Also called "Lafite" is very well translated into Chinese and has been well established with representatives of the Chinese government - rumor has it that if you want to seal agreement - Lafite should be used. To succeed in making wine in the form of money, the investor should be able to catch the next big wave and China, then certainly the next Lafite in the market. The prognosis for this year is very interesting because 2010 happened in Bordeaux to be with smaller crops, but with extremely high quality. The year 2009 was marked as one of the best vintages and prices were very high, almost double the best wines before this year. The vintages 2000, 2003 and 2005 were also ranked extremely high - this is probably due to improved vineyard practices and technology. Apart from buying make the best wine producer in a successful vintage years, the investor should look at other options too promising. Castle Mouton Rothschild Pauillac and a near Chateau Lafite is trading very actively right now. It is very different form of Lafite - more masculine and rich. It trades for about 40-50% of the value of Lafite. 10-15% is behind Château Latour and Beyond Cheval Blanc, Haut Brion and Margaux wines. Chateau Petrus and Lafleur wines are on the right bank and are worth investing in if it is an opportunity, because they produce amazing wines, but in small quantities. Second wines, products of the largest producers are also a very interesting area for investment. Château Lafite was also such a wine made from Carruades de Lafite vineyards and more. Currently, it is trading at 3,800 pounds per case and this is really too high a price for this quality, but this is something Chinese trained. Mouton Rothschild is also gaining value in the circles of wine investment.
